Doug Grevett has spent his professional life thinking big picture and acting big picture.
With a natural head for numbers, at just 19, he decided to become a financial broker and so began an 11-year career in foreign exchange broking that took him to Sydney, Hong Kong and London, where he traded upwards of US$300 million daily in US/DMK, US/YEN and AUS/US in the fast paced environment of investment banking.
In 2004, after returning to Sydney, he launched the next chapter of his life – as the owner manager of a national and international flooring company, which he ran until 2014.
Doug’s clients included Multiplex Constructions, CPB Contractors (formerly Leighton Contractors), Parkview Construction and the Papua New Guinea Government. Projects included the Surfers Paradise Hilton Hotel, Hamilton Island Yacht Club Villas, Choice Homes, Hong Kong International Airport and the Papua New Guinea Governor General’s Offices.
But in 2015, and missing the daily excitement of working in the international monetary markets, he decided to migrate into residential real estate sales.
He became a licensed real estate agent with LJ Hooker Broadbeach on the Gold Coast
And within months his talent for negotiating and closing deals, calm manner under pressure, business nous and natural enthusiasm were quickly awarded when he was named ‘Best New Talent’ for LJ Hooker South-East Queensland after selling more than $5 million worth of properties in the first quarter of 2016.
Doug himself says the grounding and experience he learnt with LJ Hooker Broadbeach put him in good stead for his next professional move which was to Black Label Property on the Gold Coast.
When he is not selling real estate you will find Doug watching or coaching one of his three sons’ cricket or rugby teams, or using his recreational private pilot’s licence to fly over the Gold Coast and Northern New South Wales region.
